Introduction to Tutorials

Tutorials are digital resources that give students hands-on practice for building skills in a low-stakes environment.

Topics covered in tutorials are broken down into smaller parts that allow students to progress, step by step, through different activities to gain more exposure to the material. This is one example of the steps students follow in a tutorial:

While students do receive a completion grade of 100%, the purpose of a tutorial is for students to get more exposure to the material by building their skills through practice. Despite the automatic grade given, instructors can choose to adjust that grade if needed. Students are notified at the start of the tutorial that their instructor may do so. This note is provided to discourage clicking through without engaging.
