The Frequently Asked Questions page is dedicated to common issues you may experience while using At Play in the Cosmos
My student completed video game activities before joining my student set.
The student should go to the correct DLP, log in, and join the appropriate student set. Once the student has joined the student set, they should log into the game. The student’s progress has been saved to the cloud, so once they join the student set and log into the game, they will appear in your grade report.
However, please note that the instructor report updates every four hours, so you may not see the update right away. If four hours have passed and the student’s information still hasn’t appeared, please contact the Norton Service Desk.
How often is student data collected and when I can see it?
When students are logged into the game and have internet connection, their progress is saved live to a cloud database. The Norton instructor reports are then updated every four hours.
Where can I find activities incorporating the game?
Supplemental activities that incorporate and support the game can be found in the game’s instructor’s manual. Homework questions built around game missions and activities can be found in your Smartwork course. You can find these resources on the relevant Digital Landing Page for your course; resources can be accessed using a Norton registered username and password.
I opened the game, and it took up my whole screen. How can I make it either only take up part of my screen or be minimized?
The game defaults to full screen mode. If you do not want to view the game this way, you must close the game and reopen the application. After reopening, you will see a window like the one below.
Click the “windowed” check box and then click Play! Now the video game will no longer default to full screen.
How do I turn off the music?
To silence the music click on Options in the upper right corner of the screen. Toggle the Music button to Off and the music will stop playing. You can also turn off any sound effects by going to the same screen and toggling the selection to Off on Sound Effects.
